Cottage with a View, Egmont Bay, P.E.I.
From a hilltop in rural St-Chrysostome, Cottage with a View has one of the best panoramic views of Egmont Bay and the Northumberland Strait. It is the perfect place to relax while watching the changing tide in the Bay and the beautiful sunsets.
Cottage with a View is located 30km west of Summerside in the Evangeline Acadian region of Prince Edward Island where you can enjoy the rich and lively French Acadian culture.
There are sea kayaking opportunities in Egmont Bay and, within a 30 minute drive, great day trips are possible in Percival Bay, Malpeque Bay, and the Gulf of St. Lawrence (north shore). Also within a 30 minute drive from the Cottage are a number of great golf destinations (Mill River, Summerside, Green Gables, etc.).
We built the Cottage ten years ago on land owned by Denis’ family for over 100 years. The shore is a five-minute walk and, when the tide is out, sandbars appear which provide miles of excellent walking with many varieties of aquatic (hermit crabs, rock crabs, jelly fish, clams) and bird life (blue herons, sea gulls, cormorants, sandpipers) to observe. Our children have spent many hours running on the beach, building “red” sand castles (decorated with shells and sea grass), swimming in the warm water, and scouting for treasures washed in by the tide.
